I hate our bedroom. I hate our bedroom. I hate our bedroom. While I would like to think that the rest of our little house is 85% complete, in terms of my satisfaction with what it is furnished and decorated with, the bedroom remains a disaster. Yes, I know that I have ranted about this before and therefore I will not go on and on about everything that is wrong with it but you get the picture: furniture that is leftover from when my man and I moved in together many years ago and combined our mismatched, first grown-up apartment items, too little space to organize our things in (the no-closet situation certainly doesn't help either), and nothing good to put up on the wall with the exception of a few photographs from a trip to New York City, also taken and nailed to the wall many years ago. It is the next room that I will tackle, but my budget is of around -20$ so it will have to hold off for a little longer.
In an act of desperation, I took everything off the wall this week, hoping that staring at bare walls might help me come up with some wonderfully crafty idea in my sleep. (I'm still waiting...) In the meantime, in an attempt to find inspiration, I have been torturing myself with a parade of huge, gorgeous bedrooms filled with natural light, fantastic old windows and much character. It seemed like a good idea at the time, only I am finding myself frustrated when I climb into bed every night and stare at the mess that surrounds me. (Still waiting...) For the most part, I know exactly what I want and it is just a matter of time before I can find the funds to follow through on it. Feel free to call me up if you come across an antique cast iron bed for under 10$...
I have always loved white bedrooms, clean, crisp and oh-so dangerously cozy and it becomes all the more apparent when I travel through the selection of saved photographs from this past year that the whiter, the better. If I could only keep our big, black dog from cuddling up on the bed while we are away!
