Rome, Day 1 and 2

I mentioned before that I will travel for good pizza. Obviously, I'm not kidding around. So here we are in Rome, day 2 of our trip and we kicked into vacation mode faster than I thought. Our little apartment is sweet as can be, a humble home in the Trastevere neighbourhood, a short walk across the bridge to the historic center. It is a more residential area that maintains a lively atmosphere where locals and tourists alike spill onto the cobblestone streets, drink and cigarette in hand, at all hours of the day.

Just like everyone in Rome, I have taken the habit of staring out my window onto the street many times a day. In the morning, Italians hum as they open their shops and in the evening, they kiss each other on the cheek and yell out "ciao!" a dozen times. I love it.
