Exploring Etsy

Well, it has been a busy and difficult couple of weeks full of essays, presentations, seminar discussions and, to top it off, a few bad grades that sent me into a spiral of frustration and despair. I know that spiral too well, very little can send me into it much too easily! This time, an idiot professor of mine wrote that I needed to work on my writing skills, but did so using a words that I judged to be too harsh. Dr. Terry Neiman, you are a terrible teacher and, to steal directly from Tina Fey's famous expression, you are a "class A moron". There, I said it openly and publicly.

So I had to give myself a little push but here I am again and the good news is, though I haven't been writing at all, I have been spending a lot of time looking at a ton of design blogs, some of which I had yet to discover and plan on sharing with you very shortly. Promises! Promises! I better start delivering on these...

Today's post is about great accessories that I have had the pleasure to find on Etsy, a wonderful and endless world of online shopping. I assume that by now all of you have poked around Etsy once or twice and have been nurturing a growing addiction to browsing the site, clicking on the "add to cart" option and anxiously awaiting your package in the mail. If you haven't been, this shall come as a warning that you will most likely never go back to boring, old retail shopping when you can have so many unique and beautifully crafted items delivered to your front door. I have already written about a few Etsy purchases that I have made here and have since then added a few items to my virtual shopping cart, and many more to my wishlist.

My bath towels are brown. Brown! What was I thinking?! Why would anyone choose brown towels when they could have these lovely Turkish towels hanging in their bathroom. I have yet to order these but I believe that they will be my next purchase so I thought that this would be a good place to start today...

Ok, so I'm a little biased on this one because it just so happens that my friend makes these but, trust me, I would still add the lovely pencil case (and the notebook...) to my wishlist even if I had no idea who the face of Pigeon Atelier was. I am expecting one of my very own in the mail and cannot wait to organize my pens and pencils, how geeky is that! I will also mention that Pigeon Atelier may soon be a contributor to Jass & Meen as well, a very exciting addition to this site! (haha! I wrote it down officially for all 6 followers to see so there is no turning back now, friend!)

There is something to be said about a pillow that is made with the best quality fabric you can find, one that poufs back up when tossed around and glows with pride when merely perched on the couch. However, if you just want to add a touch of colour to your living or bedroom and change those accessories regularly according to mood or season, a few inexpensive pillows will do the trick and this shop is a good place to start. Lots of patterns to choose from.

I'm so in love with the three hanging pots. It is like someone came into my kitchen and decided to design something based on what was already in it. I MUST have it.

I like this shop because, after birds invaded the interior design world (I am as guilty as the next person of happily following that trend and my little yellow bird still rests among my favourite items), and now bunnies are threatening to take over, it is refreshing to see spiders crawling on our dinnerware.
