A Third Life---DIY Chairs

This is the fabric that I chose to reupholster the 5 chairs that we had stored in our basement. I wrote about about these chairs in this post back in April and uploaded photos, as we had given two of them a second life with leftover fabric, just to practice and determine if we wanted to keep them or not. As it turns out, we quite liked them and I went off to find a fabric to give them all the same look. The fabric I chose is called "Amethyst" from Duralee (73013-204), at 65$ a yard. We ordered three yards but only ended up using two (more to follow on what I plan on doing with the leftover fabric...lots of options!).

We decided to invest a little and bought new foam from The Foam Shop, here in Vancouver. We had some but it wasn't the most comfortable and with this foam, we can sit on those chairs for hours and not feel awkward at all. We also had it cut to order to fit our chairs, for more precision (free of charge). The total cost of foam for 5 chairs, 60$, all in.

The third and final life for these chairs. Total cost, 190$.
